Parviz Batliwala is passionate about the old traditional crafts of India and has traveled extensively within the rural villages seeking crafts people and unusual and exotic hard-to-find works of art. She works with artists, designers and crafts people around the country in an effort to compile collections for Echo, showcasing their individual expertise.

India has a deep history in textiles and Echo's mission is to preserve, encourage and develop an awareness in the western world of these ancient methods that are vital for the success of village life and are inherent to Indian culture. Each tribe has a characteristically recognizable style that sets them apart in a nation that is rich in highly specialized crafts.
